The Board for Church in Society was disbanded in December 2004 and three working groups have now been formed:

• The Social Responsibility and Regeneration Group.

• The Mission, Evangelism, Spirituality Formation and Church Growth Group.

• The Children and Youth Development Group.

The purpose of the Groups is to:

• supports and resources the mission of the church at every level of diocesan life

• commissions and publishes material for the parishes and the wider church

• prepares debates and discussion for deanery and diocesan synods

• helps give shape to the work of specialist Advisers who contribute their skills to the work of the people and parishes of the Diocese

• considers and responds to reports from the wider church

• helps the Diocese to stay in touch with our changing social context

• helps bring a parish perspective to diocesan decision-making.
