Celebrating women's ministry in Cathedral...

The Rt
Rev Ann Tottenham (above), Bishop of Credit Valley (Diocese of Toronto),
presided at a Eucharist at Southwark Cathedral on 9 November to celebrate the
10th anniversary of the vote to ordain women as priests.
During
the service everyone joined multi coloured paper links to symbolise our
belonging to each other in Christ, especially remembering women elsewhere who
are unable to test their vocation to priesthood.

World AIDS day at the Cathedral

The
Umkhosi Singers from South Africa were the guests of the London Ecumenical Aids
Trust at the service of remembrance and hope for World Aids Day on Sunday 24
November in Southwark Cathedral.
The
group are popular not only because of the high quality of their music, but
because they have a radical, hard-hitting message about how HIV/A1DS is
destroying families and communities in Southern Africa and how prejudice and
misinformation are preventing real progress being made. |
