Blue Peter shortlisted author opens church school library

Children's author, Nicky Singer, opened the refurbished library at Macaulay School in Clapham in November.

Nicky's book, 'Feather Boy' has been shortlisted for the Blue Peter award to be announced live on 15 December. The library opening launched the school's Book Week, with the classes also enjoying writing workshops led by author Derek Smith and storytelling sessions from Saviour Pirotta.

With Nicky Singer (above) and four of the children dressed as their favourite book characters is TJ Watts from Clapham-based QAS who donated £1,000 for a computer linked projector and £1,000 for books. Funds raised by the PTA paid for a new carpet, curtains and furniture.
