Southwark 'first' for new Archbishop

An early
first for the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams
took place in Southwark
Cathedral. On Friday, 7 March he consecrated the Rt
Rev. Richard Inwood as Bishop of Bedford in the Diocese of St
Albans.
This
was Dr Williams first consecration following his enthronement but since
the consecration of Bishops in the Province of Canterbury often take place at
Southwark, the Cathedral will no doubt be seeing more of him.
Forward in Faith
Members
of Southwark Forward in Faith gathered at the Cathedral in February for Mass
and to hear the Rt Rev. Richard Llewellin, Bishop at Lambeth, speak on "A place
at the table?: The future for Traditionalists in the Anglican Communion".
The
Southwark Assembly meets twice a year bringing laity and clergy together.
Forward in Faith clergy also meet as the Southwark Chapter on a regular basis
for fellowship and to discuss issues of pastoral and ecclesial interest.
