Day Chaplaincy – Southwark Cathedral

A number of teams of Volunteers assist in the life of the Cathedral by staffing teams to serve visitors’ needs, interests and enquiries. They work alongside the Educational Centre, as Welcomers and within the Day Chaplaincy Team. It is within the latter that specific ‘extended ministry’ opportunities exist for SPAs.

Currently, as well as assisting in their own parish, several SPAs also fulfil a pastoral role at the Cathedral by volunteering to undertake duties on one or more days per month as part of the Day Chaplaincy Team.

The Cathedral Staff are seeking to increase the Day Chaplaincy provision and invite further applications from SPAs who would like to offer and be considered for this extended ministry opportunity.
