Who We Are |
|
|
The SPIDIR network, supported by the Diocese of Southwark, currently includes more than 150 trained 'directors' (see our History page and our Referrals page). Membership of SPIDIR is open to all - see our Membership section within What's On Offer The SPIDIR Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting to administer the affairs of the network. The Course Leaders are responsible for planning and delivering training programmes. Committee Members and contact details at present are:
Chair:
Revd Lyndon van der Pump -
Honorary Priest at St. Mary Woolnoth, London
Referrals
Secretary:
Elizabeth Fenney
Members: Revd Milly Broome, Revd Caroline Clarke, Introducing Your Chair Lyndon van der Pump was Vice-Chair of SPIDIR for about three years and took over from Alison Price as Chair during 2005-2006. He was ordained (very late in life) in 1988 and entered the SPIDIR web in 1992 on Course K. He had trained as a non-stipendiary minister on the old Southwark Ordination Course so he has been concerned with Southwark from the beginning of his ministry although he was ordained into the London Diocese to St. Mary the Virgin, Primrose Hill, famous for its "English Hymnal" connection and the Revd. Percy Dearmer. Lyndon's life has been mostly concerned with music - he was a professional singer and a singing-teacher of some repute, spending over 23 years as a professor at the Royal College of Music and being awarded the Fellowship of the College in 1996 after his retirement. As a Spiritual Director he spent 5 years or so at the Marylebone Healing and Counselling Centre before becoming associated with the London Centre for Spirituality at St. Edmund the King in Lombard Street in the City. He is an Honorary Priest with Andrew Walker (the Director) at St. Mary Woolnoth and is on the Advisory Council for the London Centre. Retired from St. Mary's, Primrose Hill, he is still deeply attached to it and celebrates a weekly Eucharist each Monday evening. He has just completed teaching his third Training Course for SPIDIR in 2005-2007 and he looks forward to maintaining the high profile that the SPIDIR Organisation enjoys over a wide area, far beyond the Diocese of Southwark. |
